New Ram Dual-Disc Clutch Assembly For ’11 Mustang Gt 5

New Ram Dual-Disc Clutch Assembly For ’11 Mustang Gt 5

Ram developed its 5.0-liter clutch packages because of an engagement problem that occurs on low-mileage, early-production 2011 GTs. Though the clutch disengages at high engine speeds, 6,000 rpm or more, centrifugal forces prevent it from re-engaging, unless engine speeds are reduced. As a result gear changes at high engine speeds are awkward if not impossible. Some owners reported clutch linings were so badly abused a tow truck was necessary. Ford is working on a fix for this glitch, but when that retro-fit program begins is unknown. (KJ)

Ram Introduces Best Tool Ever Devised For Adjusting Clutch Pedal Height

Ram Introduces Best Tool Ever Devised For Adjusting Clutch Pedal Height

Compared to factory-style originals, most modern high performance aftermarket clutches require less travel to disengage. As a result, the pedal often sits higher than the enthusiast might desire; in fact, the factory pedal could often benefit from a slightly lower position. Ram has pioneered a new clutch pedal adjuster that not only corrects the pedal height of all aftermarket high performance clutch systems but also OEM systems. This new Ram HSA (Hydraulic System Adjuster) is easily installed and is adjustable without lifting the car if the valve is mounted under the hood.(AK)

Ram New Clutch Release Bearing Control

Ram New Clutch Release Bearing Control

The two greatest obstacles rodders and racers face when installing a competition-style hydraulic release bearing are determining the correct amount of bearing movement on the piston sleeve and determining the exact proximity of a fully retracted release bearing to the diaphragm clutch fingers.

An easy solution is to adopt Ram's new heavy-duty universal release bearing (PN 78180HD) combined with their new HSA clutch adjuster.

This new universal bearing kit, (sold with fittings, bleed line, and bleed screw) suits a diverse range of applications, including late-model performance vehicles, early muscle cars, street rods, and Cobra kit cars.
